§ 98‑1. Copy ofdestroyed record as evidence; may be recorded.
When the office of anyregistry is destroyed by fire or other accident, and the records and otherpapers thereof are burnt or destroyed, the copies of all such proceedings,instruments and papers as are of record or registry, certified by the properofficer, though without the seal of office, shall be received in evidencewhenever the original or duly certified exemplifications would be. Such copies,when the court is satisfied of their genuineness, may be ordered to be recordedor registered. (1865‑6, c. 41, ss. 1, 2; Code, s. 55; Rev., s.327; C.S., s. 365.)
