§ 95‑32. Declaration ofpolicy.
It is hereby declared as thepublic policy of this State that the best interests of the people of the Stateare served by the prevention or prompt settlement of labor disputes; thatstrikes and lockouts and other forms of industrial strife, regardless of wherethe merits of the controversy lie, are forces productive ultimately of economicwaste; that the interests and rights of the consumers and the people of theState, while not direct parties thereto, should always be considered, respectedand protected; and that the conciliation and voluntary mediation of suchdisputes under the guidance and supervision of a governmental agency will tendto promote permanent industrial peace and the health, welfare, comfort andsafety of the people of the State. To carry out such policy, the necessity forthe enactment of the provisions of this Article is hereby declared as a matterof legislative determination. (1941, c. 362, s. 1.)
