§ 90‑270.69. Powers andduties of the Board.
The Board shall have thefollowing powers and duties:
(1) Establish anddetermine the qualifications and fitness of applicants for licensure topractice occupational therapy in this State.
(2) Conduct investigations,subpoena individuals and records, and do all other things necessary and properto discipline persons licensed under this Article and to enforce this Article.
(2a) Communicatedisciplinary actions to relevant State and federal authorities and to otherstate occupational therapy licensing authorities.
(3) Issue and renew, anddeny, suspend, revoke or refuse to issue or renew any license under thisArticle.
(4) Adopt, amend, orrepeal any reasonable rules or regulations necessary to carry out the purposesof this Article, including but not limited to rules establishing ethicalstandards of practice.
(5) Employ professional,clerical, investigative or special personnel necessary to carry out theprovisions of this Article, and purchase or rent office space, equipment andsupplies.
(6) Adopt a seal bywhich it shall authenticate its proceedings, official records, and licenses.
(7) Conductadministrative hearings in accordance with Chapter 150B of the General Statuteswhen a "contested case" as defined in G.S. 150B‑2(2) arisesunder this Article.
(8) Establish reasonablefees for applications, initial and renewal licenses, and other servicesprovided by the Board.
(9) Submit an annualreport to the Governor and General Assembly of all its official actions duringthe preceding year, together with any recommendations and findings regardingimprovement of the profession of occupational therapy.
(10) Publish and makeavailable upon request the licensure standards prescribed under this Articleand all rules and regulations established by the Board.
(11) Conduct a trainingprogram as needed for new Board members designed to familiarize new memberswith their duties. (1983(Reg. Sess., 1984), c. 1073, s. 1; 1987, c. 827, ss. 1, 77; 2005‑432, s.4; 2008‑187, s. 40(a).)
