§ 90‑239. Organization, meetings and powers of Board.
Within 30 days after appointment of the Board, the Board shall hold itsfirst regular meeting, and at said meeting and annually thereafter shall choosefrom among its members a chairman, vice‑chairman, a secretary and atreasurer. The Board may combine the offices of secretary and treasurer. TheBoard shall make such rules and regulations not inconsistent with the law asmay be necessary to the proper performance of its duties, may employ agents tocarry out the purposes of this Article, and each member may administer oathsand take testimony concerning any matter within the jurisdiction of the Board,and a majority of the Board shall constitute a quorum. The Board shall meet atleast once a year, the time and place of meeting to be designated by thechairman. Special meetings may be called by the chairman or upon request ofthree members. The secretary of the Board shall keep a full and complete recordof its proceedings, which shall at all reasonable times be open to publicinspection. (1951, c. 1089, s.6; 1981, c. 600, ss. 4‑7.)
