§ 90‑117.4. Judicial powers; additional data for records.
The president of the North Carolina State Board of Examiners inOptometry, and/or the secretary‑treasurer of said Board, shall have thepower to administer oaths, issue subpoenas requiring the attendance of personsand the production of papers and records before said Board in any hearing,investigation or proceeding conducted by it. The sheriff or other properofficial of any county of the State shall serve the process issued by saidpresident or secretary‑treasurer of said Board pursuant to itsrequirements and in the same manner as process issued by any court of record. The said Board shall pay for the service of all process, such fees as areprovided by law for the service of like process in other cases.
Any person who shall neglect or refuse to obey any subpoena requiringhim to attend and testify before said Board or to produce books, records ordocuments shall be guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor.
The Board shall have the power, upon the production of any papers,records or data, to authorize certified copies thereof to be substituted in thepermanent record of the matter in which such books, records or data shall havebeen introduced in evidence.
