§ 7A‑61. Duties ofdistrict attorney.
The district attorney shall prepare the trial dockets, prosecute in atimely manner in the name of the State all criminal actions and infractionsrequiring prosecution in the superior and district courts of his prosecutorialdistrict, advise the officers of justice in his district, and perform suchduties related to appeals to the Appellate Division from his district as theAttorney General may require. Effective January 1, 1971, the district attorneyshall also represent the State in juvenile cases in which the juvenile isrepresented by an attorney. Each district attorney shall devote his full timeto the duties of his office and shall not engage in the private practice oflaw.
