§74D‑8.1. Apprenticeship registration permit.
(a) The Board may issuean apprenticeship registration permit to an applicant who is 16 or 17 years oldand currently enrolled in high school if the applicant holds a valid driverslicense and submits at least three letters of recommendation stating that theapplicant is of good moral character as provided in G.S. 74D‑2(d)(2). Theletters of recommendation shall be from persons who are not related to theindividual, and at least one of the letters shall be from an official at theschool where the applicant is currently enrolled.
(b) There shall be nofee for an apprenticeship registration permit, and the permit shall expire whenthe holder attains the age of 18 years. The denial, suspension, or revocationof an apprenticeship registration permit shall be in accordance with theprovisions of Chapter 150B of the General Statutes.
(c) The applicant shallnot perform services as authorized under this Chapter until after the Board hasreviewed his or her application and issued him or her an apprenticeshipregistration permit. The holder of an apprenticeship registration permit shallbe accompanied by a licensee or registered employee while engaged in activitiesauthorized under this Chapter. (1999‑446, s. 3.)
