§ 58‑33‑48. (Effective October 1, 2010) Criminal history record checks.
(a) An applicant for aninsurance producer license under this Article shall furnish the Commissionerwith a complete set of the applicant's fingerprints in a manner prescribed bythe Commissioner. The applicant's fingerprints shall be certified by anauthorized law enforcement officer. The fingerprints of every applicant shallbe forwarded to the State Bureau of Investigation for a search of theapplicant's criminal history record file, if any. If warranted, the StateBureau of Investigation shall forward a set of the fingerprints to the FederalBureau of Investigation for a national criminal history record check. Anapplicant shall pay the cost of the State and any national criminal historyrecord check of the applicant.
(b) The Commissionershall keep all information pursuant to this section privileged, in accordancewith applicable State law and federal guidelines, and the information shall beconfidential and shall not be a public record under Chapter 132 of the GeneralStatutes.
(c) This section doesnot apply to a person applying for renewal or continuation of a home stateinsurance producer license or a nonresident insurance producer license. (2009‑566, s. 4.)
