§58‑3‑170. Requirements for maternity coverage.
(a) Every entityproviding a health benefit plan that provides maternity coverage in this Stateshall provide benefits for the necessary care and treatment related tomaternity that are no less favorable than benefits for physical illnessgenerally.

(b) As used in thissection, "health benefit plans" means accident and health insurancepolicies or certificates; nonprofit hospital or medical service corporation contracts;health, hospital, or medical service corporation plan contracts; healthmaintenance organization (HMO) subscriber contracts; and plans provided by aMEWA or plans provided by other benefit arrangements, to the extent permittedby ERISA.
