§58‑15‑85. Service of process.
(a) Each attorney of adomestic reciprocal who files the declaration required by G.S. 58‑15‑100,and each attorney of a foreign or alien reciprocal that applies for a license,shall file with the Commissioner a written power of attorney executed induplicate by the attorney that appoints the Commissioner as agent of thereciprocal. Upon the appointment, the Commissioner may be served all legalprocess against such reciprocal pursuant to G.S. 58‑16‑30. A copyof the power of attorney, duly certified by the Commissioner, is admissible asevidence in the courts of this State.
(b) Whenever any suchprocess is served upon the Commissioner, G.S. 58‑16‑45 isapplicable, except that the process shall be directed to the attorney at theaddress shown on the power of attorney. Nothing in this section limits theright to serve any process upon any reciprocal in any other manner permitted bylaw. (1989, c. 425, s. 1.)
