§ 20‑9.2. Selectiveservice system registration requirements.
(a) Any male UnitedStates citizen or immigrant who is at least 18 years of age but less than 26years of age shall be registered in compliance with the requirements of theMilitary Selective Service Act, 50 U.S.C. § 453 (1948), when applying for theissuance, renewal, or duplication of a drivers license, commercial driverslicense, or identification card.
(b) The Division shallforward in an electronic format the necessary personal information of theapplicants identified in subsection (a) of this section required forregistration to the Selective Service System. An application for the issuance,renewal, or duplication of a drivers license, commercial drivers license, oridentification card constitutes an affirmation that the applicant has alreadyregistered with the Selective Service System or that he authorizes the Divisionto forward the necessary information to the Selective Service System forregistration. The Division shall notify the applicant that his application forthe issuance, renewal, or duplication of a drivers license, commercial driverslicense, or identification card serves as his consent to be registered with theSelective Service System pursuant to this section.
