§ 20‑279.19. Certificate of insurance as proof.
Proof of financialresponsibility may be furnished by filing with the Commissioner the writtencertificate of any insurance carrier duly authorized to do business in thisState certifying that there is in effect a motor vehicle liability policy forthe benefit of the person required to furnish proof of financialresponsibility. Such certificate shall give the effective date of such motorvehicle liability policy, which date shall be the same as the effective date ofthe certificate, and shall designate by explicit description or by appropriatereference all motor vehicles covered thereby, unless the policy is issued to aperson who is not the owner of a motor vehicle. The Commissioner may requirethat certificates filed pursuant to this section be on a form approved by theCommissioner. (1953, c. 1300, s. 19; 1955, c. 1152, s. 16.)
