§ 163‑32. Compensation of members of county boards of elections.
In full compensation of their services, members of the county board ofelections (including the chairman) shall be paid by the county twenty‑fivedollars ($25.00) per meeting for the time they are actually engaged in thedischarge of their duties, together with reimbursement of expendituresnecessary and incidental to the discharge of their duties; provided thatmembers are not entitled to be compensated for more than one meeting held in anyone 24‑hour period. In its discretion, the board of county commissionersof any county may pay the chairman and members of the county board of electionscompensation in addition to the per meeting and expense allowance provided inthis paragraph.
In all counties the board of elections shall pay its clerk, assistantclerks, and other employees such compensation as it shall fix within budgetappropriations. Counties which adopt full‑time and permanent registrationshall have authority to pay directors of elections whatever compensation theymay fix within budget appropriations.
