§15A‑1340.22. Multiple convictions.
(a) Limits onConsecutive Sentences. If the court elects to impose consecutive sentencesfor two or more misdemeanors and the most serious misdemeanor is classified inClass A1, Class 1, or Class 2, the cumulative length of the sentences ofimprisonment shall not exceed twice the maximum sentence authorized for theclass and prior conviction level of the most serious offense. Consecutivesentences shall not be imposed if all convictions are for Class 3 misdemeanors.
(b) Consolidation ofSentences. If an offender is convicted of more than one offense at the samesession of court, the court may consolidate the offenses for judgment andimpose a single judgment for the consolidated offenses. Any sentence imposedshall be consistent with the appropriate prior conviction level of the mostserious offense. (1993, c. 538, s. 1; 1994, Ex. Sess., c. 24, s. 14(b);1995 (Reg.
