§ 156‑76. Compensation of board of viewers.
The compensation of the engineer, including his necessary assistants,rodmen, and laborers, and also the compensation of the viewers, shall be fixedby the clerk. In fixing such compensation, particularly of the drainageengineer, the clerk shall confer fully with the Department of Environment andNatural Resources and with the petitioners. The compensation to be paid the twomembers of the board of viewers, other than the engineer, shall be in suchamount per day as may be fixed by the clerk of the superior court for the timeactually employed in the discharge of their duties, and in addition any actualand necessary expenses of travel and subsistence while in the actual dischargeof their duties, an itemized report of which shall be submitted and verified.
