§147‑31.1. Office space and expenses for Governor‑elect andLieutenant Governor‑elect; and other Council of State members‑elect.
(a) The Department ofAdministration, upon request of the Governor‑elect and LieutenantGovernor‑elect, made after the general election for these respectiveoffices, is empowered and directed to provide suitable office space and officestaff for each such official for the period between the general election andinauguration.
The Department ofAdministration shall provide, for the fiscal years in which general electionand inauguration of the Governor and Lieutenant Governor shall occur, suchsums, not in excess of eighty thousand dollars ($80,000) for the Governor‑elect,and not in excess of ten thousand dollars ($10,000) for the Lieutenant Governor‑elect,as may be necessary for the salary of the staffs and the payment of officeexpenses of each such official during such interim.
(b) The Department ofAdministration, upon request of any other member‑elect of the Council ofState who is not an incumbent in that office, shall provide for such personssuitable office space and office staff for each such official for the periodbetween the general election and inauguration.
The Department ofAdministration shall provide, for the fiscal years in which general electionand inauguration of such persons occurs, ten thousand dollars ($10,000) for thesalary of the staffs and the payment of office expenses of each such officialduring such interim. If there are more than two such persons, such servicesand payments shall be made from the Contingency and Emergency Fund uponapproval of the Council of State.
