The requirement that anapplicant for licensure as a home inspector first have a license as anassociate home inspector does not apply to a person who, prior to October 1,1996, had been engaged in the business of performing home inspections forcompensation for at least one year and had conducted at least 100 home inspectionsfor compensation. All other requirements for licensure as a home inspector,including passing a licensing examination provided by the Board, apply to anapplicant who is exempted by this section from the requirement of priorlicensure as an associate home inspector.
