§14‑16. Receiving or passing unauthorized substitutes for money.
If any person or corporationshall pass or receive, as the representative of, or as the substitute for,money, any bill, check, certificate, promissory note, or other security of thekind mentioned in G.S. 14‑15, whether the same be issued within orwithout the State, such person or corporation, and the officers and agents ofsuch corporation aiding therein, who shall offend against this section shall beguilty of a Class 3 misdemeanor and only punishable by a fine not to exceedfive dollars ($5.00).
