§ 130A‑5.1. Statehealth standards.
(a) The Secretary shalladopt measurable standards and goals for community health against which theState's actions to improve the health status of its citizens will be measured. The Secretary shall report annually to the General Assembly upon its conveningor reconvening and to the Governor on all of the following:
(1) How the Statecompares to national health measurements and established State goals for eachstandard. Comparisons shall be reported using disaggregated data for healthstandards.
(2) Steps taken by Stateand non‑State entities to meet established goals.
(3) Additional stepsproposed or planned to be taken to achieve established goals.
(b) The Secretary maycoordinate and contract with other entities to assist in the establishment ofstandards and preparation of the report. The Secretary may use resourcesavailable to implement this section. (2000‑67, s. 11.)
