§ 127A‑150. Immunity ofguardsmen from civil and criminal liability.
(a) A member of theNorth Carolina National Guard or State defense militia, while acting in aid ofcivil authorities and in the line of duty, shall have the immunities of a law‑enforcementofficer.
(b) Whenever members ofthe North Carolina National Guard or State defense militia are called upon toexecute the laws, engage in disaster relief, suppress or prevent actual orthreatened riot or insurrection, repel invasion, apprehend or disburse[disperse] any sniper, rioters, mob or unlawful assembly, they shall have theimmunities of a law‑enforcement officer.
(c) Any civil claimagainst a member of the National Guard or State defense militia allegedlyarising from the action or inaction of such member of the National Guard orState defense militia while in line of duty shall be filed within two years ofthe date of the occurrence or forever barred.
