§ 116‑260. Informationon meningococcal disease immunization.
(a) Each public orprivate educational institution that offers a postsecondary degree as definedin G.S. 116‑15 and that has a residential campus shall provide vaccinationinformation on meningococcal disease to each student. The vaccinationinformation shall be contained on student health forms provided to each studentby the educational institution and shall include space for the student toindicate whether or not the student has received the vaccination againstmeningococcal disease. The vaccination information about meningococcal diseaseshall include any recommendations issued by the national Centers for DiseaseControl and Prevention regarding the disease.
(b) The vaccinationinformation obtained under this section that is in the possession of theeducational institution is confidential and shall not be a public record underG.S. 132‑1.
(c) This section shallnot be construed to require the educational institution to provide themeningococcal vaccination to students.
(d) This section shallnot apply if the national Centers for Disease Control and Prevention no longerrecommends the meningococcal vaccine.
