§ 113‑60.4. Purpose and intent.
(a) The purpose of this Article is to place within theDepartment of Environment and Natural Resources, the authority andresponsibility for investigating insect infestations and disease infectionswhich affect stands of forest trees, the devising of control measures forinterested landowners and others, and taking measures to control, suppress, oreradicate outbreaks of forest insect pests and tree diseases.
(b) In this Article, unless the context requires otherwise, theexpression "Department" means the Department of Environment andNatural Resources: "Secretary" means the Secretary of Environment andNatural Resources.
