§ 108A‑18. Dutiesand responsibilities.
(a) The special county attorney shall have the following dutiesand responsibilities:
(1) To serve as legal advisor to the county director, the countyboard of social services, and the board of county commissioners on socialservice matters;
(2) To represent the county, the plaintiff, or the obligee inall proceedings brought under Chapter 52A, the Uniform Reciprocal Enforcementof Support Act and to exercise continuous supervision of compliance with anyorder entered in any proceeding under that act;
(3) To represent the county board of social services in appealproceedings and in any litigation relating to appeals;
(4) To assist the district attorney with the preparation andprosecution of criminal cases under Article 40 of Chapter 14, entitled"Protection of the Family";
(5) To assist the district attorney with the preparation andprosecution of proceedings authorized by Chapter 49, entitled"Bastardy";
(6) To perform such other duties as may be assigned to him by theboard of county commissioners, the board of social services, or the director ofsocial services.
(b) In performing any of the duties and responsibilities set outin this section, the special county attorney is authorized to call upon anydirector of social services or the Department of Health and Human Services forany information as he may require to perform his duties, and such director andDepartment are directed to assist him in performing such duties.
