§ 613. Salamanca urban renewal agency. (1) An urban renewal agency, to be known as the Salamanca urban renewal agency, is hereby established for the accomplishment of any or all of the purposes specified in articles fifteen and fifteen-A of this chapter and in accordance with article eighteen of the constitution of the state of New York. It shall constitute a body corporate and politic, be perpetual in duration and consist of seven members including the mayor, the president of the common council, one of the members of the city planning commission, and four other residents of the city of Salamanca to be appointed by the mayor. (2) The member from the city planning commission and the four members shall be appointed by the mayor subject to approval by the common council. The terms of office of the mayor the president of the common council and the member from the city planning commission shall coincide with the terms of their respective municipal offices. The terms of office of the four members shall be for one, two, three or four years from the date of appointment and each term following the expiration of the initial terms shall be for five years. (3) The terms of all members of the agency as initially organized and now in office, shall terminate on the effective date of this chapter as amended by this act, and the terms of all seven members as herein provided for, shall commence on said date. The agency shall meet for organization within ten days after such date. (4) The agency shall have the powers and duties now or hereafter conferred by article fifteen-A of this chapter upon urban renewal agencies. It shall be organized in the manner prescribed by and be subject to the provisions of article fifteen-A of this chapter and the agency, its members, officers and employees, and its operations and activities shall in all respects be governed by the provisions of such article.
