29-17-3. Purpose.
The purpose of the Caregivers Criminal History Screening Act [29-17-2 NMSA 1978] and its requirement that caregivers undergo a nationwide criminal history screening is to ensure to the highest degree possible the prevention of abuse, neglect or financial exploitation of care recipients.
