Section 263:88 Commercial Driver Learner Permit.
   I. The department may issue a commercial driver learner permit to an individual who does not hold a valid driver's license and who meets the requirements of RSA 263:25, II(b).
   II. The commercial driver learner permit may not be issued for a period to exceed 90 days. Only one renewal or reissuance shall be granted within a 2-year period. The holder of a commercial driver learner permit may drive a commercial motor vehicle on a highway only when accompanied by a person who holds a commercial driver license valid for the type of vehicle driven who occupies a seat immediately adjacent to the individual for the purpose of giving instruction in driving the commercial motor vehicle. A commercial driver learner permit shall not be issued to a person while the person is subject to a disqualification from driving a commercial motor vehicle, or while the person's driver's license is suspended, revoked, or cancelled in any state.
