76-2229. Use of titles;restrictions.(1) No person other than a registeredreal property appraiser shall assume or use the title registered real propertyappraiser or any title, designation, or abbreviation likely to create theimpression of credentialing as a registered real property appraiser by thisstate. No person other than a licensed residential realproperty appraiser shall assume or use the title licensed residential real property appraiser or any title,designation, or abbreviation likely to create the impression of credentialingas a licensed residential realproperty appraiser by this state. No person other than a certified residentialreal property appraiser shall assume or use the title certified residentialreal property appraiser or any title, designation, or abbreviation likelyto create the impression of credentialing as a certified residential realproperty appraiser by this state. No person other than a certified generalreal property appraiser shall assume or use the title certified general realproperty appraiser or any title, designation, or abbreviation likely to createthe impression of credentialing as a certified general real property appraiserby this state. No person other than a trainee real property appraiser shallassume or use the title trainee real property appraiser or any title, designation,or abbreviation likely to create the impression of credentialing as a traineereal property appraiser by this state. A real property appraiser shall statewhether he or she is a registered real property appraiser, licensed residential real propertyappraiser, certified residential real property appraiser, certified generalreal property appraiser, or trainee real property appraiser whenever he orshe identifies himself or herself as a real property appraiser, includingon all reports which are signed individually or as cosigner.(2) The terms registered real property appraiser, licensed residential real propertyappraiser, certified residential real property appraiser, certified generalreal property appraiser, and trainee real property appraiser may only be usedto refer to a person who is credentialed as such under the Real Property AppraiserAct and may not be used following or immediately in connection with the nameor signature of a corporation, partnership, limited liability company, firm,or group or in such manner that it might be interpreted as referring to acorporation, partnership, limited liability company, firm, or group or toanyone other than the credential holder. This requirement shall not be construedto prevent a credential holder from signing an appraisal report on behalfof a corporation, partnership, limited liability company, firm, or group ifit is clear that only the individual holds the credential and that the corporation,partnership, limited liability company, firm, or group does not.
