Acceding to corruption.
575.280. 1. A person commits the crime of acceding tocorruption if:
(1) He is a judge, juror, special master, referee orarbitrator and knowingly solicits, accepts, or agrees to acceptany benefit, direct or indirect, on the representation orunderstanding that it will influence his official action in ajudicial proceeding pending in any court or before such officialor juror;
(2) He is a witness or prospective witness in any officialproceeding and knowingly solicits, accepts, or agrees to acceptany benefit, direct or indirect, on the representation orunderstanding that he will disobey a subpoena or other legalprocess, or absent himself or avoid subpoena or other legalprocess, or withhold evidence, information or documents, ortestify falsely.
2. Acceding to corruption under subdivision (1) ofsubsection 1 of this section is a class C felony.
3. Acceding to corruption under subdivision (2) ofsubsection 1 of this section in a felony prosecution, or on therepresentation or understanding of testifying falsely is a classD felony. Otherwise, acceding to corruption is a class Amisdemeanor.
