Rules for filing briefs, transcripts, and docketing cases.
512.150. 1. All briefs shall be prepared as provided byrule of the appellate court. The appellate courts shall havepower to prescribe the number of copies which shall be filed; thetime within which briefs shall be filed and the manner in whichtranscripts on appeal, briefs, and other documents shall beserved upon the opposite party or otherwise made available tohim; the time and manner in which appeals shall be docketed andset for argument; and rules for the taxation of the costs ofpreparing transcripts on appeal. Any appellate court may suspendor modify the rules made in pursuance of this section in aparticular case upon a showing that justice requires a suspensionor modification, and shall do so especially when a litigant is apoor person and the general rules require a burdensomeexpenditure of money.
2. Any rules made by an appellate court under subsection 1with relation to the docketing of cases and setting the same forargument shall prevail over any statutory provision prescribingthe order of hearings or preferences to be given in certainclasses of cases.
