383.170. 1. Any health care provider shall be entitled toapply to the association for medical malpractice liabilityinsurance. Such application may be made on behalf of anapplicant by a broker or agent authorized by the applicant.
2. If the association determines that the applicant meetsthe underwriting standards of the association as prescribed inthe plan of operation and there is no unpaid, uncontested premiumdue from the applicant for prior insurance, then the association,upon receipt of the premium, or such portion thereof as isprescribed in the plan of operation, shall cause to be issued apolicy of medical malpractice liability insurance.
