Penalty for false statements.
377.460. Any solicitor, agent, examining physician or otherperson who shall make a false or fraudulent statement ormisrepresentation in or with reference to any application forinsurance, or for the purpose of obtaining any money or benefitin any corporation doing business under sections 377.200 to377.460, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction,shall be punished by a fine of not less than one hundred dollarsnor more than five hundred dollars, or by imprisonment in thecounty jail for not less than thirty days nor more than one year,or by both such fine and imprisonment, at the discretion of thecourt; and any person who shall make a false statement of anymaterial fact or thing in a sworn statement as to the death ordisability of a certificate holder in any such corporation, forthe purpose of procuring payment of a benefit named in thecertificate of such holder, shall be guilty of perjury and shallbe proceeded against and punished as provided by the statutes ofthis state in relation to the crime of perjury; and any personwho shall make any false or fraudulent statement ormisrepresentation with reference to any corporation, company orassociation transacting business under the provisions of sections377.200 to 377.460 shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and uponconviction, shall be punished by a fine of not less than onehundred dollars nor more than five hundred dollars, orimprisonment in the county jail for not less than thirty days normore than one year, or both such fine and imprisonment, at thediscretion of the court.
