Director, powers--financial examinations, when, by whom made andpaid.

354.717. 1. The director, or any person authorized by him,may examine the financial condition and the affairs andmanagement of any prepaid dental plan corporation whenever thedirector deems necessary.

2. The director, or any of his duly appointed agents, maycompel the attendance before him, and may examine, under oath,the directors, officers, agents, employees, solicitors, or anyperson, in reference to the condition, affairs, management of thebusiness, or any matters relating thereto. The director mayadminister oaths or affirmations, and shall have power to summonand compel the attendance of witnesses, and to require and compelthe production of records, books, papers, contracts, or otherdocuments if necessary.

3. The expense of any examination shall be assessed by thedirector against the prepaid dental plan corporation examined andthe examination assessment shall be paid by the corporation, onthe order of the director, directly to the person or personsrendering the service.

4. In lieu of making an examination, the director may accepta full report of the most recent examination of a foreign oralien prepaid dental plan corporation certified by theappropriate examining official of another state, territory,commonwealth or district of the United States.
