324.1110. 1. The board of private investigator examiners shallrequire as a condition of licensure as a private investigator that theapplicant pass a written examination as evidence of knowledge ofinvestigator rules and regulations.

2. The department shall conduct a complete investigation of thebackground of each applicant for licensure as a private investigator todetermine whether the applicant is qualified for licensure under sections324.1100 to 324.1148. The board shall and will outline basic qualificationrequirements for licensing as a private investigator and agency.

3. In the event requirements have been met so that testing has beenwaived, qualification shall be dependent on a showing of, for the twoprevious years:

(1) Registration and good standing as a business in this state; and

(2) Two hundred fifty thousand dollars in business general liabilityinsurance.

4. The board may review applicants seeking reciprocity. An applicantseeking reciprocity shall have undergone a licensing procedure similar tothat required by this state and shall meet this state's minimum insurancerequirements.
