321.711. 1. A recall petition shall be filed with the electionauthority not more than one hundred eighty days after the filing of thenotice of intention.

2. The number of qualified signatures required in order to recall anofficer shall be equal in number to at least twenty-five percent of thenumber of voters who voted in the most recent gubernatorial election inthat district.

3. Within twenty days from the filing of the recall petition theelection authority shall determine whether or not the petition was signedby the required number of qualified signatures. The election authorityshall file with the petition a certificate showing the results of theexamination. The authority shall give the proponents a copy of thecertificate upon their request.

4. If the election authority certifies the petition to beinsufficient, it may be supplemented within ten days of the date ofcertificate by filing additional petition sections containing all of theinformation required by section 321.709 and this section. Within ten daysafter the supplemental copies are filed, the election authority shall filewith it a certificate stating whether or not the petition as supplementedis sufficient.

5. If the certificate shows that the petition as supplemented isinsufficient, no action shall be taken on it; however, the petition shallremain on file.
