Selective Service System registration at time of applicationfor driver's license, procedure.
302.169. 1. Any male applicant who applies for a driver's licenseinstruction permit or license or renewal of any such permit or license andwho is at least eighteen years of age but less than twenty-six years of ageshall also be allowed to register in compliance with the requirements ofSection 3 of the Military Selective Service Act, 50 U.S.C. App. Section453, as amended. The application shall provide appropriate space forcompletion by the applicant to indicate his desire to register with theSelective Service.
2. If the applicant indicates his desire to register with theSelective Service by completing the appropriate section of the applicationas described in subsection 1 of this section, the department of revenueshall forward in an electronic format the necessary personal information ofsuch applicants to the Selective Service system. The applicant's signatureon the application and completion of the appropriate section of theapplication shall serve as an indication that the applicant is authorizingthe department to forward to the Selective Service system the necessaryinformation for such registration. The department shall notify theapplicant at the time of application that the applicant's signatureconstitutes consent to registration with the Selective Service system, ifthe applicant is not already registered.
3. The provisions of this section shall become effective July 1,2003.
