301.467. 1. Any paramedic or emergency medical technician may, afteran annual payment of an emblem-use authorization fee to the MissouriEmergency Medical Services Association as provided in subsection 2 of thissection, apply for emergency medical services license plates for any motorvehicle such person owns, either solely or jointly, for issuance either fora passenger motor vehicle subject to the registration fees as provided insection 301.055, or for a local or nonlocal property-carrying commercialmotor vehicle licensed for a gross weight not in excess of twelve thousandpounds as provided in section 301.057 or 301.058. The Missouri EmergencyMedical Services Association hereby authorizes the use of its officialemblem to be affixed on multiyear personalized license plates as providedin this section.
2. Upon annual application and payment of a fifteen dollar emblem-usecontribution to the Missouri Emergency Medical Services Association, theMissouri Emergency Medical Services Association shall issue to the person,without further charge, an emblem-use authorization statement which shallbe presented by the member to the department of revenue at the time ofregistration of a motor vehicle. Upon presentation of the annual statementand payment of the fee required for personalized license plates in section301.144, and other fees and documents which may be required by law, thedepartment of revenue shall issue a personalized license plate, which shallbear the emblem of the Missouri Emergency Medical Services Association andthe words "PARAMEDIC" or the words "EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN" in placeof the words "SHOW-ME-STATE" to the person. The emblem, seal or logo shallbe reproduced on the license plate in as a clear and defined manner aspossible. If the emblem, seal or logo is unacceptable to the MissouriEmergency Medical Services Association, it shall be the Missouri EmergencyMedical Services Association's responsibility to furnish the artwork in adigitalized format. Such license plates shall be made with fullyreflective material with a common color scheme and design, shall be clearlyvisible at night, and shall be aesthetically attractive, as prescribed bysection 301.130.
3. The director shall issue no more than one set of such licenseplates to a qualified applicant. License plates issued pursuant to theprovisions of this section shall not be transferable to any other person,except that any registered co-owner of the motor vehicle shall be entitledto operate the motor vehicle with such plates for the duration of the yearlicensed in the event of the death of the qualified person.
