301.445. Any person who has been awarded the combat infantry badgemay apply for special motor vehicle license plates for any vehicle suchperson owns, either solely or jointly, for issuance either to passengermotor vehicles subject to the registration fees provided in section301.055, or for a nonlocal property-carrying commercial motor vehiclelicensed for a gross weight not in excess of twelve thousand pounds asprovided in section 301.057. Any such person shall make application forthe special license plates on a form provided by the director of revenueand furnish such proof as a recipient of the combat infantry badge as thedirector may require. The director shall then issue license plates bearingthe words "COMBAT INFANTRYMAN" in place of the words "SHOW-ME STATE" in aform prescribed by the director, except that such license plates shall bemade with fully reflective material, shall have a white background with ablue and red configuration at the discretion of the director, shall beclearly visible at night, and shall be aesthetically attractive, asprescribed by section 301.130. Such plates shall also bear an image of thecombat infantry badge. There shall be an additional fee charged for eachset of special combat infantry badge license plates issued equal to the feecharged for personalized license plates in section 301.144. There shall beno limit on the number of license plates any person qualified under thissection may obtain so long as each set of license plates issued under thissection is issued for vehicles owned solely or jointly by such person.License plates issued pursuant to the provisions of this section shall notbe transferable to any other person except that any registered co-owner ofthe motor vehicle shall be entitled to operate the motor vehicle with suchplates for the duration of the year licensed in the event of the death ofthe qualified person.
