Registration of motor vehicles operated for first time in state.
301.100. 1. Motor vehicles not previously registered inMissouri and operated for the first time on the public highwaysof this state may be initially registered for less than atwelve-month period at the director's option, when in hisjudgment such fractional registration period shall tend tofulfill the purpose of the monthly series registration system.
2. Upon expiration of the initial fractional registrationperiods, motor vehicles so registered shall thereafter beregistered for twelve-month periods as provided in section301.030.
3. Application for registration of a motor vehicle notpreviously registered in Missouri, operated for the first time onthe public highways of this state, and previously registered inanother state shall be made within thirty days after the owner ofsuch motor vehicle has become a resident of this state.
