Traffic commission established--powers and duties.
300.070. 1. There is established a traffic commission toserve without compensation, consisting of the city trafficengineer, the chief of police or in his discretion as hisrepresentative the chief of the traffic division, the chairman ofthe city council traffic committee, and one representative eachfrom the city engineer's office and the city attorney's officeand such number of other city officers and representatives ofunofficial bodies as may be determined and appointed by themayor. The chairman of the commission shall be appointed by themayor and may be removed by him.
2. It shall be the duty of the traffic commission, and tothis end it shall have the authority within the limits of thefunds at its disposal, to coordinate traffic activities, tosupervise the preparation and publication of traffic reports, toreceive complaints having to do with traffic matters, and torecommend to the legislative body of the city and to the citytraffic engineer, the chief of the traffic division, and othercity officials ways and means for improving traffic conditionsand the administration and enforcement of traffic regulations.
