Importation of sheep or goats for breeding or feeding, regulations.

267.713. 1. All sheep or goats entering the state forbreeding and feeding purposes shall be accompanied by a healthcertificate issued by an approved veterinarian at point of originshowing that the sheep or goats are free of all contagious andinfectious diseases or known exposure thereto and that the sheepor goats are from a state or area certified as being free ofscabies by the division, except that a health certificate may notbe required when consigned to a market operating under full-timefederal stockyards inspection service; provided, that theshipment is accompanied by a waybill showing the identifying eartag number, tattoo number, or registration name and number on allregistered breeding animals. In the case of sheep and goats forfeeding purposes, a permit must be obtained from the stateveterinarian of Missouri.

2. If not from a scabies free state or area, all sheep orgoats entering the state for feeding or breeding purposes shallbe accompanied by a certificate showing that the sheep or goatswere dipped under supervision within ten days prior to entry intothe state, except that undipped sheep or goats may be moved undera special permit issued by the state veterinarian of Missouri,when circumstances warrant and the movement of undipped sheep isnot prohibited by federal interstate regulations. Sheep andgoats entering the state for slaughtering purposes, whenoriginating from an area or a state not designated as beingscabies free, shall be accompanied by a certificate of inspectioncertifying that the sheep or goats are free of clinical evidenceof scabies; provided, further, that such sheep or goats areslaughtered within seventy-two hours following their entry.

3. All markets and dealers shall retain all incomingwaybills, permits, and health or inspection certificates, for aperiod of one year and same to be made available at all times andupon demand by a representative of the department or thedivision.
