Board to act with United States agencies.

245.390. Said board of directors is hereby authorized andempowered to treat, contract and negotiate with what is known asthe Mississippi River Commission, heretofore created by an act ofthe Congress of the United States, or with any other agency ofthe United States government, for the purpose of securing theconstruction, repair and maintenance of the levees within theirlevee district, or the aid, assistance or cooperation of saidriver commission or other agency in the construction, repair andmaintenance of said levee or line of levee, or any part thereof,and to this end said board of directors may turn over to saidMississippi River Commission or other agency the use and controlof any part of its line of levee or the whole of said line; mayplace its officers, servants and agents at the disposal of andunder the direction of said Mississippi River Commission or otheragency; may take in charge and superintend contracts for leveebuilding and the building of the same, and generally shall havefull power, authority and discretion to enter into any and allarrangements, contracts and agreements with said MississippiRiver Commission or other agency of the United States governmentthat will secure the construction of the levee and protection ofthe levee district from overflows and inundations from rivers, bysaid Mississippi River Commission or other agency, or theircooperation in such construction and protection.
