209.257. The local exchange telephone company shall deduct and retaina percentage of the total surcharge amount collected each month to recoverthe billing, collecting, remitting and administrative costs attributed tothe deaf relay service and equipment distribution program fund surcharge.The commission shall determine the appropriate percentage to be deductedand retained and shall include this percentage as part of its orderestablishing the deaf relay service and equipment distribution program fundsurcharge. All remaining deaf relay service and equipment distributionprogram fund surcharge money collected by local exchange telephonecompanies shall be remitted to the commission, who shall use such moneyexclusively to fund the programs provided for in section 209.253.
