Application for pension--payment begins, when--misrepresentation,penalty.

209.060. Any person who desires the benefits of sections209.010 to 209.160 shall file an application at the countywelfare office in the county of his residence, who is satisfiedthat the applicant comes within the provisions of sections209.010 to 209.160 shall certify such fact to the division offamily services at its office in Jefferson City, Missouri, whichshall consider the merits of such application and if approved bythe division of family services such person shall be placed uponthe blind pension rolls. All pensions payable under sections209.010 to 209.160 shall begin on the date of the filing of theapplication therefor with the division of family services. Andwhenever it shall become known to the division of family servicesthat any person whose name is on the blind pension roll is nolonger qualified to receive a pension, after reasonable noticemailed to such person at his or her last known residence addressthe name of such person shall be stricken from the blind pensionroll; provided further, any person who shall by gifts, secretdisposition or other means dispose of any property in his or herpossession in order to become wholly or in part within theprovisions of sections 209.010 to 209.160 shall be deemed guiltyof a misdemeanor.
