Refusal of employment, exceptions to sanctioning of recipient.
208.715. 1. Direct placement programs are not required to sanctionthe public assistance recipient who refuses employment or an offer ofemployment for the following reasons and conditions:
(1) Three or fewer employers are direct placement programparticipants and such employment or offer of employment requires travel toand from the place of employment and the recipient's home which exceeds atotal of two hours in round-trip time, inclusive of the time necessary totransport family members to a school or place providing child care, or whenwalking is the only available means of transportation, the round-trip ismore than four miles; or
(2) The employment or offer of employment involves conditions thatare in violation of applicable health and safety standards.
2. Nothing in this section shall preempt or supersede any provisionof state law which provides greater protections for public assistancerecipients from sanctioning.
