Transitional benefits demonstration project--definitions.
208.500. 1. Sections 208.500 to 208.507 shall be known as"Transitional Benefits Demonstration Project". Subject toappropriations and receipt of a federal waiver, the division offamily services shall establish a three-year demonstrationproject which shall provide transitional benefits to families wholose their eligibility for assistance under aid to families ofdependent children because of an increase in earned income.
2. As used in sections 208.500 to 208.507, the followingterms mean:
(1) "Child care", child care services provided by thedivision of family services;
(2) "Division", division of family services of thedepartment of social services;
(3) "Medical services", those services provided for undersection 208.152;
(4) "Participant", any recipient who is participating inthe demonstration project;
(5) "Project", a demonstration project directed at AFDCrecipients who become ineligible for benefits due to an increasein earned income, in which such recipients can receive child careand medical services for an indefinite period of time, not toexceed three years, to assist in the transition from welfare toemployment;
(6) "Recipient", any person receiving aid to families ofdependent children benefits under section 208.040 or 208.041.
