Toll-free telephone to be established for information on health careproviders for children on medical assistance.
192.601. The department of health and senior services shall establish atoll-free telephone number for the use of parents to access information abouthealth care providers and practitioners who provide health care services underthe maternal and child health block grant and the medical assistance programand about other relevant health care providers, as required by 42 U.S.C.705(a)(5)(E). Unless otherwise prohibited by federal law or regulation, thecost of establishing and maintaining the cost of the toll-free telephonenumber, including the cost of personnel to operate or support it, shall beappropriated from the federal maternal and child health block grant. Thedivision of medical services of the department of social services shallprovide the department of health and senior services with information it hasotherwise compiled concerning health care providers who participate in themedical assistance program. The department of health and senior servicesshall coordinate the operation of the toll-free telephone numbers operated bythe department so as to minimize duplication of administrative expense.
