Educational programs for juveniles placed or detained in countyfacilities--state aid.
178.296. 1. The school districts, except school districts which arepart of a special school district, and special school districts in whichcounty- or court-operated facilities for the care and protection ofjuveniles are located shall provide appropriate educational programs forthose juveniles of school age who have not been graduated from the twelfthgrade and who are placed in such facilities.
2. School districts and special school districts providingeducational programs pursuant to subsection 1 shall be entitled to receive,for nonhandicapped children, the aid provided in section 163.031, RSMo.Aid for programs for handicapped and severely handicapped children shall beallocated as provided by law. No school district or special schooldistrict providing educational programs pursuant to subsection 1 shall berequired to expend on such programs funds in excess of those received bythe district under the provisions of sections 178.295 to 178.298.
