Duties of professor of dairy husbandry.

172.490. The duties of the professor of dairy husbandryprovided for in section 172.480 shall be to give instructions inthe practical details of the selection, breeding, feeding andmanagement of dairy herds, of the production of milk at the leastcost, of the manufacture of butter, the different kinds ofcheese, and the marketing of the same, to the farmers of thestate by means of public lectures and practical demonstrationsthroughout the state, through the farmers' institutes, the publicpress and the issuing of reports and bulletins on these subjects;also, to give instructions in all these subjects and in creamerymanagement to the students in the agricultural college of theuniversity. It shall be the further duty of the professor ofdairy husbandry to make such experiments in the breeding andfeeding of dairy cattle, in the handling of milk, and in themanufacture of butter and cheese, at the experiment station, asmay be deemed by the dairy interests of the state and that theboard of curators may direct.
