141.870. 1. The collector, with the approval of the mayor,may employ such attorneys as he deems necessary to collect suchtaxes and to prosecute suits for taxes.
2. Such attorneys shall receive as total compensation, asum, not to exceed six percent of the amount of taxes actuallycollected and paid into the treasury, and an additional sum notto exceed two dollars for each suit filed when publication is notnecessary, and not to exceed five dollars where publication isnecessary, as may be agreed upon in writing and approved by themayor, before such services are rendered.
3. The attorney fees shall be taxed as costs in the suit andcollected as other costs.
