Agency may accept property from U.S. government, notice, publication,content--conveyance of property to urban homesteader, requirements.
99.899. Notwithstanding any other provision of sections99.875 to 99.912, an urban homesteading agency may accept, onbehalf of the municipality, any real property tendered to itwithout payment by the United States of America, acting by andthrough the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, pursuantto the provisions of Section 810 of the Housing and CommunityDevelopment Act of 1974 (P.L. 93-383). Upon acquisition of realproperty by the urban homesteading agency under this section, theurban homesteading agency shall publish at least twice a noticein a newspaper having general circulation in the municipalitythat such property is available. Such notice shall include theestimated purchase price, the qualifications of the applicant,procedures for bidding on the property and the closing date forsuch bidding. The second notice shall be published not less thantwo weeks before such closing date. In addition thereto, thegoverning body of a municipality may, upon recommendation of theurban homesteading agency, authorize conveyance of such realproperty to an urban homesteader meeting the requirements ofSubsection (b)(3) of Section 810 of the Housing and CommunityDevelopment Act of 1974 in accordance with the requirements andprocedures set forth in Section 810 of the Housing and CommunityDevelopment Act of 1974 and any regulations promulgatedthereunder by the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development.
